I'm Caralee

Hi Ya

AUTHOR, DIVORCE LAWYER & MUM. I am passionate about living my best life & believe you can too!

My story may sound familiar to you, I got married and had children young without really thinking about what my purpose in life might be. I didn’t think about my own future in terms of a career but rather focused on our children, my husband and his business. Life doesn’t always work out as we plan and when I went through divorce at 27 years old, my world came crashing down and I was left financially dis-empowered and shocked.

My first major reset was at thirty years old. I decided to reinvent my life by going to university to become a lawyer. This was a big deal for me, given I left school at 16 years old and had never studied. I had a burning drive to become a divorce lawyer and it was time for me to bring my whole-self to the table and invest in my future so that I could thrive in the world.

Born-and-raised in a small town in the North of New Zealand, I had no direction or idea about what my life would be. As it turns out, like most people life has had many challenging moments along the way. But I now know, that my challenges have been the gems in my life that have taught me the most and have created the power within to enable me to be the best version on myself today.

My purpose in life today is to empower women to push reset so that they can live their best lives.
Whether you are wanting to reset your health, your relationships, your career or your entire life, you can. I know you can, because I have done it and each time, I have learnt that it is never too late to create a new beginning.

I married for a second time, had another baby and a few years later graduated as a lawyer.

In my law life today, I have a well respected law practice, Collective Family Law Group, where we specialise in assisting people through the transition of separation and divorce. I have an incredible, women powered team that is highly respected in the legal community for the work that we do.

Another area in my life where I have pushed reset more than once, is with my health. You may be able to relate as it is an ongoing journey for most of us. In 2013 I decided to stop yo-yo dieting and to start eating real food. This is when I created Real Food Pledge, a health and wellness recipe platform that focuses on cutting out processed food and healthy living. I love to cook, I love food and I love sharing recipes and my passion for yummy, simple but healthy food. In this space I have authored two bestselling cook books, Real Food Pledge and Real Food Everyday. Read more here about my Real Food Pledge Journey.

The best is yet to come!

When I thought that I had made it in my life as a lawyer, author and real food recipe creator, I was faced with a second divorce (yes, can you believe that!) and for a second time I had to push reset. I believe that while it is never easy going through major life challenges, especially ones that we don’t choose for our-selves, it is also a time to pivot and use the opportunity to create an even better version of ourselves. Which is exactly what I did!

There is a happy ending for me... my life is fabulous. I got remarried in 2018 to an amazing guy from Brazil (yes, he has a very sexy accent and can dance!)

Do I have it all together? No way! The truth is that none of us do, we are all learning and experimenting at this thing called life!

I believe that we can all tap into what is meant for our lives and that it is NEVER too late to make changes, pivot or push reset. Whether it is something small or a major, you have the power to change your life and create the life that you have always wanted.
